Soft, hearty, and slightly sweet, this bread is perfect for traveling through a magical forest that kinda hates most people. Or, like, also perfect for eating at home on a totally normal day. Up to you, I guess.

Ingredients:
3 c all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt

2 1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 c warm water
Process:
Mix all dry ingredients together. Then, add the water and mix until a slightly sticky dough forms. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise for 1-2 hours.
Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a heavily buttered (I'm talking like a visible layer of softened butter... for maximum deliciousness) loaf pan. Cover the pan and let the dough rise for another 20-30 minutes.
Bake at 375F for 40-45 minutes. Let cool in the pan, then slice & enjoy!
The Inspiration:
They stopped for lunch at the base of a massive pine tree. Asif sat with his back to the trunk, placidly carving slices of bread from a small loaf and spreading a dark jam on them. Casseus stood with his arms crossed, glaring at his nonplussed guide. After a few moments, Asif looked up, his eyes scanning Casseus’ features.
“Raza,” Asif said calmly, “go home and tell Galena that I am perfectly safe, but I won’t be home for a few more days at least.” As the pixie started to fly away, Asif caught him by the foot, forcing him to pay attention. “Do not tell her anything else, understand? You don’t mention anything about our newfound friend.”
Raza wriggled his foot free and huffed indignantly. “I got it, man! I’m not that dense.” With one more wary glance at both of them, he zipped off through the trees.
Casseus decided then that his failed attempts at politeness weren’t worth the trouble. “What is your problem?” The question burst out of him, his arms flinging out to either side.
Asif didn’t even bother to look up from his bread and jam as he answered, “You.”
