A sweet, buttery treat that's perfect for convincing a friend to make questionable decisions with you. It's more of a dessert than a breakfast... but you try telling that to Hermes and Dionysus.

Ingredients
Batter:
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 c milk
2 eggs
3 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
2 tsp vanilla

Cinnamon mix:
1 c granulated sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp honey
3 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
Process
Preheat the oven to 375F.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Then, add the milk, eggs, and melted butter. Whisk until you have a smooth batter.
In a separate bowl, mix all of the ingredients for the cinnamon mix.
Pour about half of the batter into a well-greased 8x8 glass baking dish. Then, sprinkle about half of the cinnamon mix over the batter (it is most likely going to fall in chunks instead of nice, even sprinkles, and that is just fine). Pour the rest of the batter into the pan, and top with the remaining cinnamon mix.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cake is set and lightly golden brown between all the cracks of lovely cinnamon mix. Let cool, and enjoy!
The Inspiration
“Rise and shine, Sleeping Beauty!” I didn’t bother knocking before bursting through the door of Dionysus’ house. After all, I figured it was way past time for me to get to barge into someone else’s life with an idea that they were now obligated to be a part of. A few moments later, I heard his footsteps coming down the stairs. It was fairly early, and while I might be an early riser, Dionysus is very much not.
“Sometimes I think you have a death wish,” he grumbled as he trudged to his sofa, sat down, and glared at me.
I shoved a mug and a napkin-wrapped parcel into his hands. “Brought you coffee. And some sort of tasty cinnamon cake thing.”
Dionysus sniffed the napkin suspiciously. “Did you make it?”
“I don’t love what you’re implying with that question,” I replied, wrinkling my nose, “but no. Hestia did.”
