I'm not saying that eating these will make you royalty... but it might make you feel like that. And they are certainly good enough to fight your way back from exile for.

Ingredients
Apple Filling:
2 medium honeycrisp apples, chopped
1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/4 c honey

Dough:
1/3 c softened butter
1/4 c granulated sugar
1 c warm milk
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 1/4 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Process

Combine all of the ingredients for the apple filling in a crockpot. Cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Once your apples are slightly soft and delicious, let them cool while you work on the dough. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add milk (make sure it's warm enough to not harden the butter), eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt directly to that bowl, and mix together until a soft dough forms.
Preheat your oven to 400F and generously butter a 9x13 glass baking dish.
Turn your dough out onto a well-floured workspace and roll it out to about a 1/4 inch thickness. Try to keep it in a vaguely rectangular shape. Top the rolled out dough with the apple mixture. Then, roll the dough into a lovely spirally log. Cut the log into 1 inch slices, so each one makes a pinwheel of dough and apple mixture. Place the pinwheels in your heavily buttered pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Drizzle the whole pan with extra honey (optional, but highly recommended) while it's still hot. Once the rolls have cooled slightly, cut them out of the pan and serve warm.
The Inspiration
"I have a terrible sweet tooth," she said, breaking the silence. "I've always been told it's unbecoming for a princess, but I just like sweet things."
Although Casseus didn't look at her, he smiled again. "What's your favorite sweet?"
"Anything with apples." She wished her smile came as readily as his. Still, the effort at making conversation had to count for something. "There's a bakery in Regit that makes apple sweet rolls that are nothing short of divine. And the confectioner next to the bakery used to make something with apple and chocolate. I can't remember much of what it tasted like, but I remember eating far too much of it as a child."
