"I think I'm just going to need some time to get over my shock," Fin laughed as he sat on the bench beside Rena. Rena crinkled her nose at him and punched his shoulder. "Oh, leave me alone. Everyone is allowed to have their thing."

"The fire is cozy and wonderful enough without you trying to make it different colors," Fin reminded Rena as she piled strings of cranberry garland on his outstretched arms. "Yes, but it would be way more festive if it were red and green," Rena protested. "Which is why you should let me-" "Absolutely not." Rena pouted at his quick response. Fin rolled his eyes. "Despite what you might think, blowing up the entire house does not contribute to the Christmas spirit." *No spoilers here! Just a short Christmas story featuring some of the characters from Broken Aether. This story was originally written in 2020, but just recently transferred to the website.
Rena ran her fingers across the tight weave of a fine silk shirt. This shop was supposedly the best place in all of Great Helmsford to find gifts for any respectable gentleman. It had proven to be absolutely useless for finding a gift for Fin. Pulling her jacket collar up around her neck, Rena stepped back onto the blustery, snowy street to begin her walk home. She just had to get a Christmas gift for Fin. The only problem was that she had no idea what to get him. On the other end of the city, across the canal, Fin knew exactly what he was going to get for Rena. His problem was that no one seemed to sell it. He surveyed the choices on the counter in front of him at what happened to be his fifth stop of the day. It was an impressive assortment of pocket knives, there was no denying that, and the gadgets and tools in each one would delight Rena to no end. There was just one thing... *No spoilers in this one! Just some cozy Thanksgiving stuff with Fin and Rena.
"Rena, if you keep stealing food every time you walk through the kitchen, we're not going to have anything to eat for dinner," Professor Edwards sighed. "I have no idea what you're talking about," Rena replied, shifting her hand so the roll she had stolen was hidden behind a fold in her skirt. |
